The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was established in November 2005. It oversees the planning and implementation of transportation and traffic projects in Dubai. EcoFleet is a significant initiative endorsed by His Excellency Director General, Chairman of the Board of the Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This rating system evaluates and rates commercial transport companies that own eco-friendly vehicles and are registered under RTA’s Commercial Transport Activities. The primary aim of this initiative is to motivate commercial transport companies to expand their eco-friendly fleet.
Commercial Transport Activities Department, is a part of the Licencing Agency, sets policies to regulate transportation and vehicle rental activities in the Emirate of Dubai, issues non-objection certificates for transport and leasing facilities to carry out their activities and issues necessary permits and approvals to facilities operating in the concession sector.
